Just before 11pm, Station 7 was dispatched to 3178 Morgantown Rd in Robeson Twp to assist neighboring companies with reports of a kitchen fire. Southern Berks Ems arrived on location first reporting visible flames from the structure. The family evacuated the residence prior to anyone's arrival and was not injured. Due to the report and icy weather conditions, a second alarm was requested for additional manpower and assistance. Interior crews battled the heavy fire from the rear of the structure before the floors became compromised, leading to an exterior attack. Roof crews opened up the roof for ventilation and lines continued to keep the fire under control. PSPR responded the next morning to investigate the fire. A job well done by all involved kept the fire contained to only the rear of the structure and everyone was able to go home safe!
