On Monday March 30th at 1421 Southern Berks EMS was dispatched to the area of the trail parking lot on Shed Rd. for an injured hiker. Upon receiving additional information form Berks dispatch that the victim was 1 to 1 1/2 miles in the woods on the Mill Creek trail EMS requested fire department dispatched to assist with extraction. Both ATV7 and ATV6 were dispatched to the scene along with Rescue7. Upon arrival at the parking area at Rt. 345 and Shed Rd. both ATV7 & ATV6 were deployed crews along with State Park Ranger 417 traveled the Mill Creek Trail in search of the victim. While en route to the victim crews experienced difficulty with copious amounts of winter dead fall blocking the trail. This did cause a great delay arriving at the victim BUFD FF Paul Lis did gain PT contact at 1628 and the victim was extracted from the woods at 1805. The victim only experienced a minor sprain to her ankle and refused transport by EMS. Total time in service 4 hours
