On July 2, the BUFD said goodbye to its 2005 Pierce 75' Aerial Scope as it made its way to its new home in the city of Woodruff, South Carolina. The pierce aerial scope was in service with the BUFD for over ten years as it responded to hundreds of calls not only in Birdsboro Boro and Union Twp but neighboring areas as well. Replacing the Pierce is a 2000 American LaFrance that was purchased in May 2015 from West End fire company of Quakertown, PA. The new tower has an extension of 100' giving the BUFD an additional 25' to work with as well as a 1500 gpm pump and six man cab.
