On Tuesday night just after 8:00pm,BUFD was dispatched to the 800 block of Park Rd in French Creek State Park (Union Twp) as well as station 24 for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Crews arrived on scene to find a black suv off the roadway with one male partially ejected through the windshield. Immediately, crews got to work to extricate the patient who was heavily entrapped. While on scene, EMS requested for air medical to respond in which engine/tanker 24 set up the landing zone and assisted the chopper. Station 69 (Twin Valley) was also dispatched to the scene for additional manpower to help with the extrication. Crews worked relentlessly for nearly forty minutes before being able to extricate the patient from the vehicle. Unfortunately, he scumbed to his injuries on scene. Great job to all of those who responded and assisted with the call. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim.
