Flooding Increases Emergency Calls

15:58 Hrs.- Heavy rain from a tropical system started to fall on the BUFD region late Thursday afternoon. The first call was received just before 16:00 for a reported building collapse in the 100 block of West Main St. in the Borough BUFD crews investigated the basement area and found a moderate water condition with no building collapse. During the next 48 hours, BUFD personnel responded to 22 additional emergency incidents, including several flooding conditons, water rescues, building fires, wires down, and roadway obstructions. Crews also spent Friday afternoon assiting the Municipalities of Birdsboro and Union Township with roadway cleanup. Thank You to all Members for your hard work and dedication.
