Close Call for Union Twp Resident

1652 hrs: Company 7, Quint and Tanker 6 (Monarch), and Chester County Engine and Tanker 64 (Norco) were alerted to the 2200 Blk of East Main Street, Union Twp for a reported porch fire. Engine 7 and Deputy 7 (S. Anderson) arrived to find a large trash can fire on an enclosed porch that was extinguished by a bystander prior to the fire department's arrival. Crew checked the porch for extension and ventilated the structure. The family inside were not injured.
