We need more volunteers for our Fire Police Unit!! If you would like to help your Fire Department and your community, click here to download an application or stop by the station and ask for a fire police officer for more information.
Emergency Operations:
The Birdsboro-Union Fire Department Fire Police Unit provides traffic control and scene security at emergency scenes in Birdsboro Borough, Union Township, and any other municipality where the Birdsboro-Union Fire Department is operating or where the Fire Police Unit has been requested for assistance.
Non-Emergency Operations:
The Birdsboro-Union Fire Police Unit can provide Fire Police services to organizations for events that may create a large amount of traffic. If you would like to request Fire Police services, please print and fill out an Official Fire Police Request Form. Please complete and return this form AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT DATE. If you can not meet this deadline, please call the number below and we will try to accomodate you. Return form to: Birdsboro-Union Fire Department, ATTN: Carl Hernandez 214 West First Street, Birdsboro, PA 19508, or email a copy to firepolice@bufd7.org.
After we recieve this form we will evaluate what services are needed for your event. We will then forward the form to the municipality where the event is taking place for their approval. The form will then be sent to Birdsboro Borough for their approval.
We will now be requiring a donation of $10 per hour per officer for some events, with a minimum of $50. This donation will not be required for certain events, which will be determined by the Fire Police Captain or Lieutenant at the time the request is made. This donation will be used to purchase new equipment for the fire police unit, such as flashlights, reflective vests, hats, etc. ***A 50% deposit will be required***
If your event is a bike race, parade, etc., you MUST attach a map/directions for our planning purposes. This is very important so we can plan accordingly for your event!
