This week the members of BUFD bid farewell to our 1993 KME 1250 GPM engine and 1983 Jeep Scrambler. Both units served the department, and more importantly, the resident's of Birdsboro Borough, Union Township and surrounding communities well. Engine 7 was first acquired by Union Fire Company of Kulptown from Reading City Fire Department where it served as Engine 13. Levittown Fire Department bought the engine where it will be used in an unknown capacity. Brush 7-1 was also purchased by Union Fire Company of Kulptown used from Stonersville Fire Company will be housed at the National Truck Museum in Auburn Indiana, and it will be used as a parade vehicle in Cincinnati.
Both units came to BUFD through the merger between Friendship Fire Company #1 of Birdsboro and Union Fire Company of Kulptown in 2009.
