18:28 hrs : Members of the Birdsboro-Union Fire Department along with Quint 6 (Monarch) , Ladder 1 (Mt. Penn) , Tanker 23 (Gibraltar) , Engine 25 (Exeter) , EMS & Rescue 25 (RIT) were dispatched to 114 South Mill Street after multiple calls for a house fire.
Deputy 7 (S. Kulp) and Rescue 7 arrived on scene with heavy fire showing. Deputy 7 requested second alarm, as crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and search the building. Engine 25's crew search the adjoining house for extension as Ladder 1 and Tower 7 worked together to check the roof for extension. Engine Tanker 25 arrived and established a water supply.
Engine 7-1 responded while out of the area and helped supply water to Rescue 7.
The fire was placed under control at 19:34 hrs with extensive overhaul. Crews remained on scene for an extended period of time assisting the Fire Marshalls and Boro Police investigations.
