05:21 Hrs. The structure assignment consisting of Company 7, Quint 6, Tanker 6, Tanker 23, and Rescue 25 RIT were dispatched to the 800 block of Chestnut St. in Union Township for a reported basement fire. Responding units were advised that the house was struck by lightning, and the basement was on fire. Engine 7-1 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing in the basement. With the initial report from Engine 7-1, Chief 7 made it a working fire. Interior crews stretched the bumper line and quickly extinguished the fire which was contained and held to the basement. The crew from Tower 7 threw ground ladders, overhauled the area, and checked the first floor for extension. Engine 7-1 was supplied by Tanker 7 and Tanker 6 for the duration of the incident.
