The Officers and Members of BUFD have begun the first phase of our two phase initiative to ensure crews are in the stations and available to respond 24 hours a day. Crews are now scheduled to be in house during evening hours Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. This is in addition to our current career staff that man our station during daytime hours Monday through Friday. The second phase of the initiative, which includes that scheduling of crews during the overnight hours, will begin after the facilities are updated to include sleep quarters.
